Cuyahoga Falls, OH asked in Landlord - Tenant for Ohio

Q: What should I do?

I live in an apartment that I lived in for 3 years with my family, we found a place to move to but it’s available 1 month after the expiry of the lease and we haven’t been able to find anything else, I talked to my landlord and said I can’t keep you here for a month, we can’t move out because we don’t have any options available sooner and there’s really nothing we could find, what can I do in regards to this?

A: If you don't leave when your lease ends, then landlord would have to file an eviction to get you out. But the eviction process can take 3 or 4 weeks. So that would be the extra month you need. Tell your landlord that, and try to resolve staying for that extra month.
