Mount Washington, KY asked in Family Law for Kentucky

Q: Will I lose custody of my child?

My childs father has no custody. His visits are supervised. I left my child with his grandmother and him (she was supervising there visit while i went to work) they were at my house. He left to go get breakfast while she was in the bathroom & she came out and it was quiet, so she assumed he took my child with him. That was not the case. My child got out of the house (4 years old) and ended up at a neighbors house who then called police, who then contacted CPS. I had to leave work and CPS released my child to me. They opened an investigation, the father is not cooperating. I however have to submit to a drug screen and the CPS worked said she would be moving our case to court. What will happen if the father is not cooperating?

A: The court will likely treat him as a defaulter but that should not negatively impact your rights.
