A California attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. Cases based on a cause of action for intentional infliction of emotional distress could be successful, but they can also be tough cases. Some firms could be reluctant to take handle them n a contingency arrangement. You're looking at satisfying two elements - (1) outrageous conduct, and (2) emotional distress, which can sometimes make the element of damages more difficult than tort cases involving tangible physical injury.
