Lenoir, NC asked in Car Accidents for California

Q: I need to speak to a lawyer regarding an accident with property damage and the officer felt I was under the influence.

There was property damage and no injuries. The officer did field sobriety which I believe I passed, but I was transported to a station where I was given a blood test. I was not given those results but was issued a citation for suspected DUI. Since that time I have not been able to speak to the courts to determine if I need a lawyer or have a time or date for appearance. I have contacted the court of Riverside who tells me no case has been filed under traffic. We are trying to find out if it is recorded under criminal. I don't know my charge or case number.

A: contact a good DUI lawyer in your area.....i only handle the greater palm springs area.

the officer sites you to court on a date on the bottom of the citation.

it is NOT like a traffic ticket. It is a Misdemeanor and is criminal.

Blood tests take a long time to get results......whereas a breath test is available when you blow.

it will not be in the system until the DA files which could be the morning of your appearance for your arraignment.

let the DUI lawyer talk to the cop and DA if s/he thinks it is appropriate..............

but get a lawyer asap........or the court will appoint one at the arraignment free of charge.
