A: Your issue relates to the rights and obligations under a contract/lease. It is not a consumer rights issue. As a consequence, your rights are contained in the lease and if there is no provision in the lease for the tenant to exercise an extension, it would then depend on a new mutual agreement between the landlord and the tenant for an extension.
