Nashville, TN asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: What do I do if I never received a court date for a ticket I pleaded “not guilty” for?

I was in a minor fender bender, and at the time I was switching over insurances. I had bought the car the day before and the woman who had updated my policy put the wrong date on my proof of insurance card. The officer wrote me a ticket and said I could fight it in court, but after mailing my ticket in and pleading “not guilty”, I am still waiting for my court date, but it’s been at least a month.

A: You should not have sent the Citation to anyone. Call the Court Clerk today and find out when Court is. You may have already missed Court and your TNDL may be suspended. If so, you will need to hire an attorney to set aside the Judgment.
