A: Call the local health dept. which might send out an inspector to order landlord to do more. Also check your local court web site for the process to start paying your rent on time each month into escrow with the court. The court will then have the landlord come in to explain what is being done to fix the problem, and if not enough, can terminate your lease so you can move. If the problem is bad enough, you don't have to stay there, and you could give landlord written notice that he breached the lease by not providing a habitable apartment, so the lease is terminated. The landlord might then sue you for breaching the lease and for unpaid rent for the remainder of your lease tern. You would go to the court hearing and explain the the judge what happened, and the judge will decide.
