you can sue anyone for anything but the question you want to ask is if will you win and will it be worth the money you are going to spend?
Lawyers traditionally will not take a case like that on a contingency.
if it is criminal the person you are to sue would need a criminal lawyer.
if you are suing civilly, that person would need a civil lawyer to defend as would you to bring the suit................good luck
if the amount is anywhere close to $10k, waive the difference and sue in small claims for the $10k....................but you still need the evidence to win.
then the problem is to collect on a judgment......if you win.
