Asked in Car Accidents for California

Q: Do I have to make a recorded statement to my insurance company after an auto accident. Should I wait 4 the police report

Involved in a car accident Riverside CA

Riverside PD took a police report — traffic collision

When I gave my statement to police I said I had lost control. Upon seeing my car I had been pit maneuvered so I was hit 2 times.

My insurance is asking for a recorded statement.

Should I wait for the police report? I left in an ambulance and really do not remember much of the crash.

A: You have an obligation to cooperate with your insurer. If you don't, it could refuse to defend or indemnify you.
