Q: Dad to oldest daughter is intentionally keeping her from speaking to me or letting her visit. What can I do?
My ex and I have raised my daughter for the last nine years. Her dad hasn't had anything to do with her unless he was trying to get a girlfriend then he wanted to play father of the year. At first we forced her to go with him when he wanted her but as she got older and actually understood that the man that lived with us wasn't her dad we ended up letting her decide if she wanted to go with him or not. The majority of the time she didn't want to go. With the situation that I was in I noticed my daughter was falling into depression because she has never been away from her sisters so I made the decision to let her live with her sisters. CPI made the decision to let him pick her up and take her to live with him after being informed that he was committed into a mental institution for attempting suicide and he was being investigated for sending sexually explicit photos to a minor the report also says that he took her with no previous relationship whatsoever. What can I do to get her back?
A: I assume you have a signed agreement on custody and parenting plan. If so, not letting you see your daughter is already a violation to that. Consult with a local Family Law Attorney to help you file child custody modification to get her back and protect her from him (as you said, he had history into a mental institution).
