Q: Can an internet company reopen my account legally without my consent and charge me for a service I closed with them?

Back in 2019 I had an account with spectrum and everything went decent up until I noticed a service on my monthly bill I never requested or authorized and the company would remove said service when I called them out on it since I never used that service. I closed my account because it became excessive and they would just add the service again after multiple times of me canceling it. After I called them for the last time in 2019 to close my account due to them sending me to collections, they have reopened my account and their new collections agency sent me to a new collection to collect a debt that the company made from me closing the account and their failure to reimburse my account for the services they added without my consent. The old collection agency told me they reopened my account in Nov. of 2021 can I sue the company for doing this?

A: there are fact specific layers here that require that you need to speak with a debt collection attorney and have all your documents and facts ready for review. if you were already in "collections" when you closed your account, then they were claiming that you owed them money. having a new collection company contacting you now is not the same thing as opening a new account in your name. you need to consult with a lawyer right away.
