I am cosigner on loan and then person that holds deeds filed bankruptcy
A: More than likely the debt to the note payee was discharged in Bankruptcy, which means you will be held in contempt if you pursue a discharged debt. Examine the Bankruptcy File and determine what happened. If the debt was reaffirmed, you can sue for contribution. Be very careful and check the Petition first.
