A: The process of filing for divorce and carrying the case through to entry of judgment is the same whether you diy or have an attorney representing you. The only difference will likely be whether you do it right or your documents get rejected or you don't complete the process because you are not an attorney and don't know what you are doing. If you want to do it yourself, the CA Superior Court has a self-help link that has instructions and forms for walking you through the process. Regardless of how you plan to proceed with your divorce, you are not relieved of the obligation of giving your spouse notice of the proceedings and of serving him with the Summons and Petition. Your service of process will have to comply with Hague Convention for service of process of which Belize is a member.
