A: If you settled out then you signed a Release which is a full and final release of all claims (past, present and future). Many insurance companies try to get victims to settle cases early before the victim learns the extent of their injuries. You only get one bite of the apple. This prevents multiple lawsuits for the same claim. Furthermore, its been 14 years since you settled your claim. If you have questions about your Release you can call your attorney that represented you at the time. I doubt your attorney would still have any records concerning your lawsuit. California requires atty's to keep files for 7-years. Don't know about Boston.

A: The most likely answer is that you don't have the ability to get anything more than you gave up with the settlement. There could be some exceptions though so you really ought to seek out a local personal injury attorney who can go over everything and see what rights if any you may still have.
