A: You likely need to start with an attorney in the state where this probate or matter took place. You should start with the deceased person's state of residence/domicile, where their Homestead was located and where their property/estate was probated. If there are monies due, it would be listed in the estate probate documents that you can hopefully pull, that said, 20 years is a long time and there may or may not be court records based on the state. Then you may want to check with the state and or court registry. The real issue is why 20 years have passed and it is not likely any of that money even exists at this point, but these are some starting options.
