Family law is not the right category for this question though. It better belongs to the criminal category, as the decision to press charges is ultimately up to prosecutors and somewhat to the police. Those of us who are divorce and custody lawyers (i.e., family law lawyers) can't really speak to that.
If you believe they are not taking your case seriously, you may want to reach out to the officers who investigated and any assigned prosecutors and inquire about the situation.
