what the proper procedure would be for service and case handling in this matter.

A: If you have a new attorney then they should file a Substitution of Attorney with the court. If you don't then you should file in In Pro Per. The clerk for that court/judge might be helpful to call.

A: i would check with his office and see if another lawyer is taking the case on...if you already paid.

otherwise, retain a new lawyer and let them file sub of atty or in the alternative, you can represent yourself in pro per.
