Baldwin Park, CA asked in Civil Rights and Personal Injury for California

Q: Can police raid my home w/ helicopter wrongfully detain my son 14 yrs old w/ multiple units at gunpoint say wrong person

Police raided and detained my 14 year old son at gun point with helicopters and units held him in the back of the cop car. Refused to speak to anyone when we tried to confront them and ask why they where doing this. My son was being questioned the cops asked if he was on parol for being a drug dealer which he told them no and said he had a warrant for his arrest which he didn’t. They asked if his birthday was in May he said no it was in November they knocked on my door and confirmed his birthday with family. They walked outside and let him go with no explanation no apology nothing my family was traumatized and crying because my son didn’t do anything and they didn’t care at all to even come back to apologize for their mistake. Left the same way they came and terrorized us. My son will never forget this as well as myself.

A: You can go to the police station where the officers were assigned out on the case and file a complaint with the department. You can also file a claim for damages against the city or county which employed the officers and/or the police department itself.

You can also talk to lawyers who can give you advice on what to do and how to do it. I suggest you try that.

A: Mistakes happen.........but that is why there are lawyers, courts, and judges.

File a complaint with the police and retain a lawyer to have him/her file a complaint.

A: The police have a lot of "immunities" from being sued. You should sit down with an attorney who handles such matters and find out what options you might have.
