Costa Mesa, CA asked in Employment Law, Employment Discrimination and Sexual Harassment for California

Q: Plaintiff in Employment Discrimination Case Seeks a “Tried and True” Atty to Revive My Case.

The case was dismissed with prejudice because prior attorney retaliated and dumped me and I got sick and could not make it to the first day of trial. I have the facts but I didn’t get permissive.

I need an attorney to help me with a CCP 473 motion and represent me at hearing. It is in Ventura Sup Court.

Looking for Better Call Saul attorney who isn’t motivated by money and would give the shirt off her/his back to her/his client before all. Yes, Jaws is real - but so is her/his hunters.

A: I am sorry but this site is not the place to solicit attorneys to work for you. It is a question and answer site only. You are going to have to locate and contact attorneys to see if they are interested in handling your matter. However it is highly unlikely you will find an attorney to take your case. Attorneys do not work for free, and are motivated by money, which you imply is a bad thing. Everybody who works is motivated by money. It is not an evil thing to want to earn money.

And any attorney that emulates Saul will lose their license for engaging in serious ethical obligations. Your expectations that you can find such an attorney have been grossly misinformed by a TV show that is not based in reality.

Finally, it is extremely difficult to get a judgment reversed under CCP section 473. The facts you have stated likely do not allow you to set the judgment aside. Your only remedy may be a malpractice case against the attorney. However, more would need to be known to make such a determination.

Good luck to you.
