Dallas, TX asked in Divorce and Child Custody for Texas

Q: Husband abandoned my 2 kids and I on 3/6 in Texas, he now says I am withholding parental rights by what I am requesting.

He has not financially helped us since the first week of February. We are barely hanging on only w/ the help of our church. He will randomly visit his Mom that lives near us & I was allowing our children to spend the night over there until he started saying that he wants to take them with him. He has not cared for our children & is emotionally abusive & has committed adultery numerous times. I do not trust him & was only allowing visits since it was w/ his mother also. But now she has been acting very strange & I stated as advised by my lawyer that from now on until we have signed paperwork for child custody there has to be a chaperone on play dates. They both have disagreed on this. His Mom on our last play date picked up my daughter for what I thought would be a hug, squeezed her so hard she could barley breathe, started sobbing & shaking then spanked her hard once put her back on the ground & ran. My daughter screamed, cried & is now saying she hurt her. Can I cut contact for now?
