West Covina, CA asked in Arbitration / Mediation Law for California

Q: How do I find out about past arbitration judgments that I might have been a part of?

I believe they appointed me a representative and hid the notifications of the proceedings from me. Is there a way that I can find out about any past arbitration judgements against me?

A: If you believe that you may have been a part of an arbitration proceeding in California and want to find out about past arbitration judgments, you can take the following steps:

Check your records: Review any records or documents that you may have related to the dispute or arbitration proceeding. This may include correspondence, legal documents, or any other records that you have kept.

Contact the arbitration provider: If you know the name of the arbitration provider, you can contact them directly to request information about any past arbitration proceedings that you may have been involved in. You will need to provide your personal information and any other details that you have about the arbitration.

Contact the court: If the arbitration was part of a court case, you can contact the court to request information about the case and any arbitration proceedings that may have taken place. You may need to provide your personal information and any other details that you have about the case.

Hire an attorney: If you believe that you may have been a part of an arbitration proceeding but are unsure about the details or your rights, you may want to consult with an attorney who specializes in arbitration and dispute resolution. An attorney can help you understand your legal rights and options and assist you in obtaining information about past arbitration judgments.

In California, the California Department of Consumer Affairs oversees the registration of private arbitration providers and can provide information about the registration status of providers. Additionally, the American Arbitration Association (AAA) is a commonly used arbitration provider and maintains records of past arbitration proceedings.

A: Courts and arbitration hosting companies can post decisions. However, with arbitration, there are no set guarantees. Arbitration proceedings can sometimes be more private than court proceedings and are not always published in unified court systems. Good luck
