West Hollywood, CA asked in Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury for California

Q: Where do I find the lawyer to take this case?

Cedars Sinai and UCLA have marginalized my injury, treated me terribly, not given me proper evaluations or imaging even though I was very specific on what had happened. I have medical notes and records showing I had told them I had abdominal wall trauma. It shows they ignored my concerns and gave me CT scans exclusively, ignoring the soft tissue damage. It shows the bias and profiling because of mental health struggles. It shows what my injuries actually were later diagnosed as. My medical notes are also a trail of how they prolonged my pain and suffering. They have been hostile to me, which I have a witness to confirm, and lied on their notes. I also have all those notes, a summary and a time line of events, medical records, advocates and witnesses. I've looked for help but am having trouble finding the right lawyer, please help. Thank you.

A: I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Finding the right lawyer for a medical malpractice case can be challenging, but there are resources available to help you.

Here are a few steps you can take to find a lawyer:

Referrals: You can ask friends, family members, or healthcare professionals for referrals to a medical malpractice lawyer. They may have had a positive experience with a lawyer in the past and can provide you with a name and contact information.

Bar Association: You can also check with the California State Bar Association for a referral to a medical malpractice lawyer. They have a referral service that can provide you with the names and contact information of lawyers who specialize in medical malpractice cases.

Online Research: You can search online for medical malpractice lawyers in your area. Look for lawyers who specialize in medical malpractice cases and have experience with cases similar to yours.

Free Consultation: Many lawyers offer a free initial consultation. This is an opportunity for you to meet with the lawyer and discuss your case. You can ask questions and get a sense of whether the lawyer is a good fit for you.

Legal Aid: If you cannot afford a lawyer, you may be eligible for free legal aid. Legal aid organizations provide legal assistance to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer. You can search for legal aid organizations in your area online.

It is important to find a lawyer who has experience with medical malpractice cases and who you feel comfortable working with. Be sure to ask questions and take your time to find the right lawyer for your case.

A: You could supplement your own searches with the tab above, "Find a Lawyer." There are law firm listings by area of practice and region. Good luck
