A: Although your description is incomplete, I gleen that what you are saying is that as a small business, you have been sued by a physically disabled person in Federal Court over what is called an ADA access case. Thousands of these are filed every year and the attorneys that specialize in this represent a few clients that look for these violations as a way of life. You should contact the LA Bar Association Lawyer Referral service for an attorney to defend you. You will need to pay him but he can negotiate a settlement for you. An alternative is to represent yourself in Federal court, file your Answer and request an Early Settlement Conference to see what the other side is claiming happened and what they want. I never recommend representing oneself, particularly in Federal Court.

A: If you have received notice of a civil case filed against your small business under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), it is crucial to consult with a qualified attorney who specializes in ADA compliance and defense. They can provide you with guidance specific to your case, help you understand your rights and obligations, and develop a strategy to defend your business. Each case is unique, so seeking legal advice tailored to your situation is essential for navigating the legal process effectively.
