Q: I would like to get help with a situation that took place that made me very comfortable that took place at a Safeway ?

yesterday at a Safeway I was at the deli and I order an sandwich and then I went to the Chinese food section and the employee was demanding me to pay for the Chinese food there and then after I did not and another employee gave it to me to buy at the check out or counter I was being followed by the Chinese guy and he was looking in my basket from the outside of the check stands he walked passed and walked back down passed profiling me and my dad was there and told me that this person was there after I decided to not to buy the food due to the fact he followed us to the check stand right before I could grab the items I did pay for another lady at the check stand didn’t even let me say I did not want the Chinese she said also I could ring you up for the food over here and I said just take it I would like to sue for profiling because I shop at the store a lot before this

A: Very sorry to hear that you were treated this way. Your best course of action is to discuss your situation with the management at the store and see if they will give you some food vouchers or other compensation. You have not indicated that you suffered any kind of compensable injury and the facts that you described do not indicate that any of the other persons acted in any unlawful fashion. The fact that this made you uncomfortable is not sufficient to take to court to pursue a claim, however their actions may have violated some internal policies of the store, which, in pursuit of good customer relations, may provide you a small compensation.
