A: Driver’s license information, in California, may not be released except in certain circumstances. Your information was released.

California Code, Vehicle Code - VEH § 1808.21 “ (a) Any residence address in any record of the department is confidential and shall not be disclosed to any person, except a court, law enforcement agency, or other government agency, or as authorized in Section 1808.22 or 1808.23.”

A: I think it means that someone thinks you hit them and want to bring a claim against you. Better contact your Ins co, and ask them if someone has made a claim. I recommend you contact several attorneys in your area that practice this type of law, as soon as possible. Thank you for using Justia ask a lawyer.
