A: The ability for a sex offender on parole to date someone with a child, even in a long-distance relationship with no physical contact, largely depends on the conditions of their parole. Parole conditions often include strict rules about contact with minors, and these rules can apply regardless of the nature of the relationship or the lack of physical contact.

You should review the specific terms of your parole agreement. Some parole terms may prohibit any kind of interaction, including virtual contact, with minors or individuals who have children. If the terms are unclear, you might need to seek clarification from your parole officer.

Engaging in any relationship that might violate parole conditions can result in severe consequences, including potential re-incarceration. It's important to proceed with caution and ensure you fully understand and adhere to the terms of your parole to avoid any legal issues.
