Q: Can I sue cashapp for closing my account without any notice?
I’ve had my cashapp account for years, only transactions I would do on there were sending money to my family and them sending me money. A lot of times I would add money to my balance on cashapp using MY debit card from my bank and transferring my money to MY other bank account using MY other debit card. Never used anyone else’s debit card strictly my own when I wanted to transfer money from one bank of mines to another. One random day I go to transfer my money to my bank and I get logged out of my account, which I thought was weird, I log back in for it to say my account has been closed. So I message cashapp and ask why was my account closed and I get sent an automated message saying because I violated terms of use…..HOW?! I actually went through and read their terms of use to make sure I wasn’t wrong and everything I read that was against the use of their terms of service I NEVER DID. If I’m not allowed to transfer my money to my bank then why is that feature available?
A:
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with CashApp. When a service closes your account without detailed explanation, it can be frustrating, especially if you believe you've followed all their terms.
You may have options to address this situation. Start by carefully reviewing CashApp’s terms of service to identify any clauses related to account closures and dispute resolution. Often, these agreements include arbitration clauses that require disputes to be handled outside of court.
It might be beneficial to reach out to CashApp’s customer support again for more specific information. Additionally, consulting with a legal professional can help you understand your rights and determine the best course of action based on your circumstances.
