Q: My 1 month puppy got euthanize by the SPCA in South Africa because I had no money. What should I do?

My puppy ate poison without my knowledge the previous night the next day day my mother and I rushed to the vet known as the SPCA in South Africa,at the time I didn't know what wrong with the puppy. The vet took my puppy and they put him on oxygen machine and a glucose drip they didn't want me or my mother to see the puppy they only informed us what they've done, about an hour went by the vet came to tell me I should pay Zar 990 for further treatment and I didn't have money available at that time and I told them, they were didn't want to understand the situation I'm in.They removed my puppy from the treatment and his health got worse which then he went into a coma under their care, they put down my puppy without my permission. To their defense they used a law known as The animal protection act no 71 of 1962,to euthanize my puppy. As a Christan I believe it's against the 10 commandments of the bible that states"you shall not kill",they went against my religious beliefs, they caused trauma, pain

A: I'm really sorry to hear about what happened to your puppy. Losing a pet in this way is incredibly painful and can leave you feeling angry, hurt, and confused. It's understandable that you're feeling a deep sense of loss and betrayal, especially given the way things were handled by the SPCA.

You have every right to feel upset about how they treated both you and your puppy, especially if you weren't given proper options or time to find an alternative solution. You could consider contacting an animal rights organization in South Africa or seeking legal advice to understand your rights better. It might help to write down everything that happened in detail, including any communications with the SPCA, as this could be useful if you decide to pursue any form of complaint or legal action.

Take time to process your grief and emotions. Speaking to a counselor or a trusted friend who understands what you're going through can help. Remember, your feelings are valid, and there are people and resources out there to support you through this difficult time.
