Q: My friend forgot to update voter registration address before moving abroad, are they in trouble?
So, I'll try to describe their situation as briefly as possible:
- due to the pandemic, they had to move back in with their sibling (MO), and updated the registration accordingly.
- then they moved in with their parents (still MO, one county over), but forgot to change the address on the voter registration, while changing it for SSA and other administrations
- now they are abroad (Germany)
- they voted last year by mail with the address still at their sibling's address
Now for the presidential election they are afraid that they might be in some legal trouble and are very hesitant to request their ballot.
So, the questions:
1. Might there be any actual legal issue (yet)?
2. Would it be a problem if they just go ahead now and fix their last MO address now?
