Q: Is there anything legal I can do to get reimbursed my lost hours?
I'm an hourly employee. I had issues accessing the system at my job, therefore I wasn't able to work. This problem was caused by my employer and could only be rectified on their end. I was the only person affected by this issue, so there was no sense of urgency and it lasted for 5 days (40 hrs) total. My employer required me to clock out while this issue was being fixed, even though I had to be readily available in case IT or the company needed to talk to me or troubleshoot. Not getting paid for those 5 days has really hurt me and put me behind in bills. My employer said I will not be reimbursed for those lost hours. I feel its not right, especially since it was not my fault I could not access their system. Is there anything legal I can do to get reimbursed my lost hours? Thank you for all answers.
