Q: Can I do anything about a towing company overcharging me and refusing to give me a breakdown of the services and fees?
My boyfriend got arrested in chicot county ar 11 days ago (he wasn’t charged and was let go about 5 hours later) but my car had been towed and to get it back we have to have insurance and a renewed tag and pay the price, and we have been struggling greatly financially already. We have been trying as hard as possible to get up the funds to take care of anything and the owner of the company called my boyfriend, told him the price to get the car and that it would be $186 towing charge, $75 a day storage until he moved it to the lot and it would be $65 a day out there. I (the owner of the car) have called him multiple times since then and every time he refuses to give a price breakdown, saying that he’s already explained once and that he isn’t doing it again and talks to me like trash and even hung up on me. He’s saying the total is 1300 now? Not to mention he told my parents who I have issues withthat we had stolen property in the vehicle and that he is trying to get a lien on the car?
