Q: How do you go about filing child abandonment on a biological father and an adoption with a step parent?
My childrens biological father has not made contact with them in 2 years. They are 7, and anything before was spiritic. I also have a 5 year old that he has denied and never had contact with. He has not made contact with me in over a year, the last regarding the state coming after him for CS and demanding me to put a stop to it. I do not currently receive any support. My current partner of 5 years, is wanting to adopt the children. Many times their father has told me he would sign them over, but I just want to make sure they are fully protected when I start this process. He has a tendency to decide he wants to parent when we go to court and then disappear when it's all said and done. I want to protect my children from any further confusion when it comes to him.
