A: Your instincts about feeling pressured are worth paying attention to. As your advocate, your lawyer should explain things clearly and make you feel comfortable with any decisions, not rushed or pushed into accepting something you don't understand.

The California lemon law did undergo changes recently, but this shouldn't automatically mean accepting a lower offer without proper explanation. You deserve to know exactly how these changes affect your specific case and what other options might be available. Your lawyer should walk you through different scenarios and help you understand the pros and cons of each path forward.

Consider scheduling a focused meeting with your lawyer to discuss your concerns directly. Ask them to explain in detail how the new law impacts your case, what alternatives exist, and why they believe this offer is the best option. If you're still uncomfortable after this conversation, remember you have the right to seek a second opinion from another lawyer before making any decisions. This is an important decision that affects you financially, so take the time you need to feel confident in your choice.
