A: It sounds like a frustrating situation, and you may have a valid concern regarding the towing of your car. If your HOA or management agreed to a plan with you to move the car and then had it towed without proper notice, it could be a violation of your rights. Review the notice you received to see if it meets legal requirements for towing, such as clear communication about fees and dates. If those details were missing, it strengthens your case.

You may want to check your condo complex's rules or the HOA agreement to see what authority they have over towing and whether they need your consent or presence to tow your vehicle. It could also help to contact the towing company and ask for a record of who authorized the tow and whether someone was present. If the authorization was improper, you could have grounds to dispute the towing and associated fees.

Consider sending a formal written complaint to your HOA or management company to document the issue. Explain the situation and ask for clarification on why the car was towed despite your prior communication. If they fail to respond adequately, you might want to explore legal options or mediation to resolve the matter and recover any fees you’ve incurred.
