A:
That sounds like a frustrating and unfair experience, especially since you were following the usual process and had proof of your purchase. If you feel that you were discriminated against, you may want to gather all the evidence you have, including receipts, any witness statements, and any details about the interaction. The fact that they refused to check the cameras and instead escalated the situation by calling the police raises concerns about how they handled the situation.
If you believe that their actions were based on discrimination, you might consider filing a complaint with the corporate office of the truck stop, as well as with any relevant consumer protection or civil rights agencies. Depending on the circumstances, you could also consult with an attorney to explore whether any laws were violated, such as discrimination laws or unjust denial of service. If the police were involved, obtaining a copy of the police report might be useful to understand how they documented the incident.
Since you are a truck driver and frequently visit this location, it's understandable that you would expect consistent and fair treatment. If this has never happened before, it makes sense to question why it happened now. Keeping a record of similar experiences in the future could help establish a pattern if this happens again. If you need help deciding what steps to take next, reaching out to legal resources or advocacy groups that deal with discrimination cases might be a good idea.
