Q: Summons to establish a father child relationship, no DNA and woman is married?
I have had an on again off again affair with this woman for five years, she got pregnant two years ago and immediately said it was mine. I asked for a DNA test in the privacy of her home between us and she absolutely refused and instead went and filed this petition with the court house. She is married, has been married this whole time, while the child was conceived and born but they were separated. I already have two children and have been trying to reconcile a relationship with their mother and I have no idea how to deal with this. It says on the petition that child support and health coverage would be necessary and right now I am unemployed. I would rather just sign my rights over and remove myself from the situation because it's been nothing but a mess. Please help.
A: You should hire a local family law practitioner to help you with this. It is not a DIY type of a case. You need to ask for a DNA test first.
