Toledo, OH asked in Criminal Law for New York

Q: Did I commit a crime? Will they come after me? What crime did I commit?

I solicited a man in New York City to coordinate a sex party including drugs. We texted for a few weeks. Planning and talking about who etc. We also talked about drugs and how they would be used. The week before it was supposed to happen I cash apps him $500. Then the next day I got a call from him saying that we shouldn’t text each other details as he thinks the police are watching his number. I quit talking with him and blocked his number and didn’t travel to NYC. I live in Toledo Ohio. Did I commit a crime? If so what crime. Will they come after me?

A: The criminal defense attorneys here could advise best, but your question remains open for a month. It's possible that attorneys, for your own good, may feel that it is better not to advise on public forums, and that it could be better to discuss with attorneys in confidence. It's only a guess, but I'd bet that one of the first things criminal defense attorneys would tell you if you reached out to them would be to stop posting about your situation on public forums. Good luck
