Q: Elderly relative neglected in hospital, severe bed sores worsened by surgery, seeking advice.
My relative, who is 84 years old, was admitted to a hospital on January 24, 2025. During her stay, she developed severe bed sores, leading to surgery, which unfortunately worsened her condition. Despite her ability to communicate her needs, she wasn't properly cared for, resulting in her lying in her own waste, leading to infection. The hospital admitted responsibility but hasn't been able to fix the damage. We have documented evidence of the neglect. As a family, we're seeking advice on what steps we can take regarding this matter.
A: You may well have a case. Contact my firm or another med mal attorney in Va for a cost free review.
A: Nursing home abuse cases are a specialty. I can assist with a referral, if needed.
A:
Our Roanoke office would be honored to do an intake and further discuss whether a lawsuit can benefit your family in any meaningful way.
