The simplest thing for you to do is to hire a private agency to conduct a criminal background check for you -- that really takes all the work out of your hands; however, that can be pricey. Another option would be to look online or go in person to the Circuit Clerk's Office of the counties... View More

I am an immigrant working on H1B work permit. I have recently been fined with Civil penalty (retail theft) and charged with misdemeanor.
Question:
1. Shall I make payment or wait for the judgement?
2. What is the consequence on immigration because of this?
answered on Jan 24, 2022
I would retain a criminal defense attorney as that crime of moral turpitude will negatively affect your H1B visa and it will be cancelled. The defense counsel once retained could request a hearing and amend that criminal charge to a non CIMT (Crime of Moral Turpitude charge) misdemeanor. Once... View More
Hunters are hunting in the field across from my home. They are set up 100 yards away from my property line, which is in regulation. I sensory train my dog in my yard, on my property with a loud horn, which might disrupt the hunters. Am I in violation of hunter interference act of Illinois?
answered on Jan 11, 2022
Yes, since your horn emits the loud sound that does interfere with legitimate hunting sound protocol even on your own property.

Depends on the circumstances.
If one states I am a licensed Medical Doctor" and then provides a medical advice (no matter how trifle) that will constitute an unlawful practice of medicine without a license not to mention a hefty civil liabilities for damages if such may occur.
However the state still filed a vop against me for the arrest. This would be my first violation, all other terms have been completed. Since there is now no actual charge pending against me, what can I expect to happen. Will this be dismissed or no violation found?
answered on Dec 28, 2021
I would promptly retain an experienced criminal defense counsel for a VOP hearing. Here is why. Even if the charges were not filed, the State may argue that it is still a de facto violation and the judge may agree to change its terms rendering you to an actual prison term.
In my opinion,... View More
