I'm 17 and gonna be 18 in December. Me and my gf started dating in September. She's currently 17 and gonna be 18 in July. We are in a long distance relationship so no sexual physical activity will be happening. Would it be okay for us to continue our relationship after I turn 18?

There is no prohibition to continuing in a non-sexual relationship with your girlfriend. However, if you intend to engage in a sexual relationship, that may be an issue. California Penal Code section 261.5 says it is a crime to have sex if one party is over 18, while the other is 17 or under.... View More
A report has been filed with CPS. Her parents filed a police report when she didn't return home from school. A teenage friend took her to the teen shelter for homeless and run away kids. Her parents and police are there telling her she has to go home with her father, and she's very frightened.

Sounds like this is in the hands of the professionals; I would leave it there. If there's a genuine concern, CPS will take appropriate measures. For your sake, do not involve yourself in this situation in a negative way by having her stay with you.
Called the Police Department and Coroner's Office!

If he doesn’t have any record, the charge will likely be diverted and ultimately dismissed.

Call the school principal or counselor and report her as a run away.
Any advice would be helpful. She has felt this way for years. I believe this is who she/ he is. He does not agree. He will not help her. It has taken a toll on her mentally and physically.

Not sure if we are discussing an adult child or a child who remains a minor. I am going to answer assuming this is an adult child. The only thing he is required to do for an adult child is to provide her health insurance information until she reaches age 26 (I believe, I am not an expert on health... View More

Are you talking about a child custody issue? Why don't you repost it under family law. And in any event, clearly you need a lawyer.

Can my parents force me back home? Can people harboring me be punished?

And can she get in trouble that she knew this and did not recuse herself ?
answered on Nov 17, 2021
The question certainly may present a conflict if that prior case involved family law in a family court. If that was the case, then the conflict is that the attorney can use information gained from the father and use it either for or against the father. However, if the case was something else in a... Take a beyond control petition to get him picked up and into court. You can consider other charges against other people as the facts shake out.

Probably misdemeanor assault.. not necessarily jail time unless injuries were serious.
Cps threatened to have kids removed, foster care worker lied, refused services, added heresay statements on record, denied parent access to children for medical, dental, and school appointments

For the uninitiated, you will find "threats" mean something different in the legal world. When CPS (or police, prosecutor, attorney) says "if you don't do this, I'll do that"...and the "that" is something lawful - meaning under the law, they, or a judge, can... View More

This should be discussed with the criminal defense attorney handling the case. Also, legal steps can be taken to protect the... View More
