If you mean criminally, it doesn't get taken seriously if you wait a long time.Civilly, 3 years. Or you could run it through homeowners if it's above your deductible.

The short answer is yes. Usually there is going to have to be a reason proffered as to why the witness should be recalled. But judges -- who make the final call -- allow this liberally for cause.

They can charge you but can they prove their case? They have to prove that you knew he was going to leave the store with unpaid items. You need a private criminal defense attorney.

Situations take place all the time. What do you mean by that? The friend can face being confined in the jail as opposed to being on work release, and probably faces new charges perhaps for escape, if the facts indicate that.
