Q: I backed into a parked car in a parking ramp. There maybe some damage. I am not sure if it was there before or not.

There was no damage to my car. I did not leave my insurance information. What can happen to me if the damage was my fault?

Assuming it's a scrape, that would be for a garage normal wear and tear. Damage would be minimal, so I question the duty to report.

Q: Good afternoon, Reckless endangerment. A woman is driving and rear ends a truck. Best outcome?

For the woman--it's knocked down to inattentive. For the truck driver? Workers comp, wraparound wage loss, p.i. claim.

Serious enough charge that the woman should consult an attorney, the driver should contact a member of the the Minn. ASn for Justice--they give free consults.

He never got your side but you said as a result of what you did there was a wreck, so the problem is?..............sorry to be obtuse but I'm not getting it. See what the citation says. It may be a stop sign violation, it may be something else. If you don't believe you violated the stop... View More

Took my car for a wash to a place where the employees drive it thru the wash. Went home after the wash and noticed that there is a $300 damage. We called the place and told them about it and now they’re saying that Bc we left, they can’t do anything about it. What can we do about this?

You want to look at the wording carefully--show it to a lawyer. He should insert a "reasonable" into the charges, and watch out if your state limits what can be charged in car crash cases. Finally, check the dr. out--if you think they overcharge maybe it's time to go elsewhere.

Because you can have a suspension or worse, depending on the facts, you should get a consultation from an attorney who handles traffic violations in the court for the county where it happened.

Depends what you mean by "forced" urine sample. If they got a cup and you filled it without them doing the tarantella on your bladder, then it's not forced. But if it's serious enough for a warrant it's serious enough for you to get a hold of a minnesota criminal lawyer. If... View More

My mom got in a car accident last month. She was at a stop, but the car behind her kept running which eventually hit her, and pushed her car to hit the cars in front of her. When involved in a car accident, the insurance company's job is to make the settlement as cheap as possible AND put the blame on you! NEVER go up against an insurance company alone. Hire an attorney to hold the insurer responsible.

Q: I was involved in an accident in which I was at fault, while driving someone else's car. How can I take responsibility?

The owner of the car was not present during the accident. I was driving. The owner's rates have gone up because of this and I have now heard that she is at risk of being sued. I want to do the right thing and take the responsibility away from her and on to myself.

The insurance of the car you were in automatically covers the case, so nothing you can do there. They will provide her with defense if she is sued. Normally you would be sued. She is only at fault if she knew in advance you weren't a good driver.

So she is not personally liable. She...

You should notify your insurance. Short answer is it depends on your state's law. You would have a third party claim or cross claim against them if you are sued.

First, try the state police--as to getting your stuff. Second if you have collision that should cover tow and storage. Third, if you can borrow the money then argue--at 35 a day before you know it it's over 1k. Better to have the car, then argue than have a gigantic bill and if you lose the... View More
