One of her adult children is in charge of everything conserning her death and affairs. Her other child is a convicted felon and been estranged from her for many years. How do we make sure the felon doesnt get part of this settlement?

Sure. But what good will that do? Locally, a case is given a docket number, basically only on a single docket. There might be a different docket number for the same case next month. So, will that help? A case number is probably better to look up.

In NJ, you have to complete college and 3 years of law school (if you are in school full-time) or 4 years of law school (if you are in school part-time). Then you have to pass the NJ Bar Exam.
