Paying the Fine is a Conviction with points against the MVR. No telling what might happen if you respectfully go to Court. Take cash to pay costs.
Insurance coverage, which is my vehicle and covered by me?
answered on Aug 5, 2021
Not sure of your question. But if he received Citations for both Speeding and Lack of Financial Responsibility, then he needs to go to Court with proof of current Insurance. A local attorney might help alot in his case, especially since the vehicle has coverage. Apparently your Grandson did not... View More

They can. But if you were diverted on a driving offense, then that should not be a conviction and no points on the MVR should be generated. Make sure you complete your Diverted Probation.
I was issued a citation under the Move over Law. Situation was: I stopped before turning right from a side street into the right hand lane of a state highway (2 lanes in my direction of travel, speed limit 65). About 300 yards from the corner I'd just turned was an emergency vehicle, pulled... View More

That sounds like a violation. It is a Class B Misdemeanor and LEO's take that Rule of the Road very seriously. Hire your immigration lawyer to represent you.
The officer's name listed was "Temporary Officer" and the Officer number was listed as "9999-9999" Is this a valid Ticket?
answered on Jun 28, 2021
Call the Court Clerk there and find out. It sounds like an inexperienced officer with no badge number. But that does not make it unenforceable, just easier to deal with.
The officer who pulled me over didn't state on the ticket that it was reckless, but I'm afraid I'll be charged as such. This is my first ticket ever but I'm afraid I'll be subject to jail time. Is hiring an attorney my best bet?

Apparently you handled yourself well when the stop occurred. The Citation can be amended, but I doubt it will be anything worse than the 29 MPH over. That Violation will add 5 points to your MVR, so you must be careful for the next year. An attorney might help, especially as nervous as you... View More
The vehicle information on the citation is wrong, he also did not check the proper boxes for commercial vehicle and the license plate number doesn't match the vehicle. I also explained to the officer I was only restarting my phone by pressing the power button since it froze and I use it for... View More

That was an admission to the crime. The Citation mistakes can be easily amended in Court. You might hire an attorney, but in any case, you will need to go to Court.
I recently received a speeding ticket for going 70 in a 55. I did not know the speed limit, as I had just turned down the street, so I was following traffic. The officer that pulled me over said that it was not his jurisdiction. When he pulled me over, he said that he was pulling me over for... View More

You should consult with a few traffic ticket lawyers in the area/jurisdiction you were pulled over and then hire the one with whom you are most comfortable. Good luck.
When I got pulled over the officer said I was doing 45 in a 30 but when I got home and read the ticket it says I was doing 45 in a 50 which isn’t speeding. What should I do?
answered on May 25, 2021
If the speed zone is 30 mph, then the Court will allow the State to simply state that for an amendment. Act respectful in Court and politely inform the DA or Judge of the speed zone on the Citation.
Vehicle is in my name. Does that count as wrong information marked? Should I go to court and point that out to get it invalidated?
answered on May 20, 2021
You are probably in General Sessions or City Court. The Court can easily amend the Citation. Act respectful and possibly the Citation will be Diverted, etc.
answered on May 17, 2021
Hire an attorney to represent you. He can get you before the Court, then see if a Dismissal is possible since Diversion is not.
I was being repeatedly honked at for being on speed limit (70 mph), so I had to accelerate a little. It was daytime.
answered on May 13, 2021
Go to Court in a respectful manner. Dress decent and talk to the DA or Judge politely. Quickly explain what happened. Have cash on you. Possibly you will be diverted or dismissed, or you might plea to a MVR nonreportable 9 mph over.

The owner of the vehicle is basically irrelevant to the criminal charge, and it can be easily amended. Be polite to the DA informing him of the same, and maybe Diversion can occur.
I was given a court date. I live in Nashville Tn.. I can't make it to court.. what do I do?
answered on Apr 6, 2021
Hire a competent attorney to represent you. Just pleading guilty is usually not a good choice because of MVR points, and you might have had a better result. You will not be able to do this on your own.
The citation is for 65mph in a 45ph zone. I was traveling with traffic and was doing approximately 58mph in a 45mph zone so I'm not denying I was speeding. My issue is that I'm a CDL-A holder and anything over 15mph could potentially put me out of business. Do you agree with the Blount... View More

If the Clerk sends the conviction to the State DOS, then it will affect your License. Hire a competent attorney to represent you on this Citation. At worst it will be a Conviction, or it might not go on your MVR. Never just plead guilty and send the Court a Check.
For speeding. I had my son in the vehicle who is 17. I know what I done was wrong but I really need help. Please give me your best advice. All of this was taken in the state of Tennessee.

The only advice is to hire a competent attorney in or near the County you were stopped in. Reckless Speeding is not a crime, so you obviously were charged with something else. The two citations could take your TNDL as you are only allowed 11 points on your MVR for the last year. You may have to... View More
The officer pulled me for driving in a wrong way one street. I received a citation and there is a court date and a fine on it. It was a rainy day. Does pleading no contest can get me in trouble?
answered on Mar 29, 2021
Thank you for your question. Pleading "no contest" or "nolo contendre" has a very similar effect to a guilty plea in that you are not disputing any facts and are accepting punishment for a crime. By entering a plea of no contest, you are saying that you do not contest the facts... View More
Can tickets from 12-15 years ago still be a reason a driver's license is currently suspended?
answered on Mar 24, 2021
Old Citations are old criminal offenses. Whatever DOS demands for reinstatement is what is required, as they issue the TNDL.

It does not add points to your MVR and is not a violation of the Rules of the Road (criminal). However you can be sued for the civil debt.
answered on Mar 15, 2021
No.. Those are separate criminal charges which will have to be taken care of before you will get a TNDL.
