I currently reside in California and am planning on establishing my consulting agency. It will just be me and planning to hire independent contractors.

You should setup an LLC in the state where you operate. Then determine if an S-election is appropriate for your LLC.
If you establish in WY you'll have to file a foreign registration in CA.
Hire a professional.
Any thoughts would be helpful

I do not practice in your state, but I can talk generally about the valuation of damages. For simplicity's sake, you should assume you have two types of damages. First, you have your actual damages. How you were demonstrably injured. This can be in lost wages and opportunities, it can be... View More

I am from the UK and looking to setup a US business. I've decided that taxation as a C-Corp is best as I am looking to build capital and retain profits in the company so a pass-through entity is not ideal. I understand that as a C-Corp, things are more formal and decisions require minuted... View More

For tax there is no difference. For state business compliance issues a Corporation has slightly more things that have to be done to maintain the corporate veil. Annual meetings are required where an LLC can waive them you have to set a par value for shares and report the number of shares issued... View More
He left and paid part with a promise to make monthly payments. He hasn’t paid and I have a judgement against him. He says he doesn’t have to pay because he is disabled. Sure, you can sue him for "fraud." However, it is unlikely you will prevail because you already have a judgment against him for the unpaid room rent.

I'm sorry your question hasn't been picked up in four weeks. Try reposting in the Libel & Slander section. That's where defamation would fall under, and where the question would hopefully have a better chance of being seen by a Wyoming attorney who practices in that area. Good luck

I did a loan modification after bankruptcy and paid two months but couldn’t pay it anymore. The mortgage company said I can do a short sale. Is it ok for me to try to short sale or should I just walk away?

The answer to this question depends on several unknow factors, such as how much equity there is and whether you took money out when you did the loan modification.

When I took over trailer I had to pay 3 years back taxes, back rent 3-4 months plus his fees to landlords. I've looked for him and can't locate him. I've been paying for everything for 5 years now. Want his name off title.

Unless the other owner has died you are going to have a difficult time "removing his name off the title" because they still own it with you. Hire a lawyer to advise you.

Yes. Joining the Military is a very serious matter. Going AWOL is seriously frowned upon by the Court and Prosecutor if her National Guard Commander swears out a Warrant. She also does not want an Other Than Honorable Discharge as it will ruin her life. A Dishonorable Discharge or Bad... View More

If you apply for everything correctly, including advanced parole, she will have the ability to travel out of the country. That said, it is highly recommended that she does not. First, she has overstayed. Second, unless she came on a fiance visa, they can prevent her from entering based on immigrant... View More

I judged stopping in breakdown lane to be potentially hazardous, so a passenger in my vehicle called an accident report in to local Sheriff's office on cellphone while I kept on driving. What does Wyoming law state about requirement to stop and render aid?
answered on Aug 21, 2018
In nearly every state the law only applies to drivers "involved in the accident." A passer by such as yourself need not stop. You can phone the police if you clearly saw it happen (as opposed to looking over once you hear the bang).
