A: Ask friends. I would also interview the lawyer and ask specific questions about his or her experience. I believe that a key to a good client attorney relationship is communication, so if you make a call, see how soon the attorney responds to your initial inquiry. Does he or she personally call you back, or does an assistant. Does he or she return calls or emails promptly? All of these are important elements that you should look for in hiring.
