A: Hopefully, your problem has been resolved by now. You do not give enough facts for me to be able to answer this question. Rain is something that is to be expected here in Florida. The contractor should take care to avoid rain by having sufficient covering to protect against it. But a homeowner should not interfere with the work. Each case is different and each situtation may demand the individualized attention of an attorney, especially when something like this happens. You should know what your rights are under the construction lien statutes. A homeowner should not refuse final payment because there is a crack in a lentil, but they do. Sometimes you just have to sue, and in order to do that you have to pay an attorney.
