Parker, CO asked in Real Estate Law for Colorado

Q: I have a condo in escrow. The Real Estate question.

I had an escrow scheduled to close on 4/12/14. The closing date has been put off twice and will need another extension tomorrow. The delay appears to have been caused by a dispute between the condo association and the lender. What would be the consequences should I refuse to sign another extension?

Thank you

A: The rights and obligations of the buyer and the seller in a real estate transaction are determined by the agreement of sale. I recommend that you arrange a consultation with a real estate lawyer who can review your agreement of sale and answer your question.
