Q: Mother has full and sole custody granted in NY. Can she move to Alabama and file for same there?

Mother has family in Alabama. The children's aunt, uncle and grandparents.

A: The custody order from NY would be honored by the Alabama courts and she would not have to file again. As long as there is no court order that she should have the father's permission to move, she is free to do so.
