A: Yes. The Department of Highway, Safety, and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) will require you to show proof of installation in a motor vehicle that you designate as your primary vehicle, at the time you request your driver's license. A "P" will be placed on your driving record which alerts officers that you are required to have an IID in your vehicle if your are the driver.

More about the IID can be read at the DHSMV website, http://flhsmv.gov/ddl/IID.html .

You can check the status of your driver's license at the DHSMV website, https://services.flhsmv.gov/dlcheck/ .

Best of luck,
